Determinants of export for agricultural processing enterprises:an empirical study based on New-new trade theory |

Abstract: |
Agricultural processing enterprises have become the main undertakers of export activities under the
background of economic globalization. This paper proposed a model with multiple heterogeneity on the determinants
of export for agricultural processing enterprises by expanding the traditional productivity heterogeneity model of Newnew
trade theory. Then using Chinese industrial enterprise database,this paper empirically tested and found that,the
proportion of“ walking out” for agricultural processing enterprises was low and about 17% of them sold their products
in global market,and about 7% of enterprises exported 80% of their products and 2.5% of enterprises engaged in the
export only. On the overall,the main determinants of export activities for agricultural processing enterprises were firm
location,firm size,technological innovation,enterprise nature,enterprise level and the proportion of foreign capital to
total capital,but not human capital stock |
