Abstract: |
To study the material foundation of aroma type styles of flue-cured tobacco derived from distinct ecological
regions, tobacco leaves from four typical ecological regions including Fujian, Yunnan, Henan, Guizhou, were served as
materials, and the main chemical components as well as neutral aroma components were analyzed. The results showed that there
were regional diversity of chemical components among different aroma type styles of flue-cured tobacco. Of which, for clean
aroma style flue-cured tobacco, the total sugar and reducing sugar level, and potassium content were high, whereas the total
nitrogen and chlorine content were low; for enriched aroma style flue-cured tobacco, the nicotine, total nitrogen, chlorine level and potassium content were high, however, the total sugar level and reducing sugar content were low; the total sugar level in intermediate aroma style flue-cured tobacco was higher than that in clean aroma style flue-cured tobacco while lower than that inenriched aroma style flue-cured tobacco. Among these three aroma type styles, the reduced sugar level in intermediate aroma style flue-cured tobacco was the lowest while the level of nicotine in this style was the highest, and the level of total nitrogen, chlorine, and potassium in this style were between the enriched aroma style and clean aroma style flue-cured tobacco. The regional diversity also existed in flavor aroma components among the different aroma type styles of flue-cured tobacco. The contents of maillard reaction products, cembrane degradation products and carotenoids degradation products in the enriched aroma style flue-cured tobacco leaves were high compared with other styles, but the level of neophytadiene was low. The neophytadiene content of clean aroma style flue-cured tobacco leaves was high, and the contents of maillard reaction products and aromatic amino acid degradation products of intermediate aroma style flue- cured tobacco were between the enriched aroma style and clean aroma style. |
