Abstract: |
A novel low-cost adsorbent, carbonized tobacco stems and Eupatorium adenophorum Spreng, as a
solution to remove ammonia nitrogen from aqueous was reported. The ammonia nitrogen removal efficiency was taken as
an evaluation index for optimizing carbonized temperature, carbonized time and particle size of raw materials. Effects of
various regulation parameters, such as adsorbent dosage, initial concentration and vibration time were investigated. The
results showed that the optimal adsorbent was prepared at 500℃ for 30 min with mix ratio of 1∶1, which could remove
20 mg/L ammonia nitrogen from aqueous solution by 85.13%, the maximum adsorption capacity reached 8.51 mg/g.
Kinetics studies indicated that the adsorption process could be well described by the pseudo-second-order equation. The
correlation coefficient was 0.9641-0.9771. |
