Abstract: |
In September 2014,the experiment of factitious infection by Hyphantria cunea(Drury)
(Lepidoptera:Arctiidae)was carried out in three-year woodland of target tree species, including Fraxinus
chinensis Rosb.,Platanus orientalis L.,Morus alba L.,Ailanthus altissima(Mill.)Swingle,Populus tomentosa
Carr.,Toona sinensis(A. Juss.)Roem in Langfang City. The larvae of H. cunea were reared on leaves of the target
species under laboratory conditions, and their leave consumption and changes of soluble sugar content of target tree
species before and after factitious infection by H. cunea were measured and compared. The results indicated that the
order of leave consumption by H. cunea arranged as M. alba > P. orientalis > A. altissima. > F. chinensis > P.
tomentosa > T. sinensis. There was no regularity of change of soluble sugar content in target tree species(tolerant
and susceptible to the moths). The results demonstrated that the resistance to H. cunea was insignificantly correlated
with soluble sugar content. |
