Abstract: |
Taking two years old Hainan tall coconut, red dwarf coconut and aromatic coconut seedlings as materials, four low temperature treatments, including CK( natural temperature treatment),16℃( T1 treatment),12℃( T2 treatment),8℃( T3 treatment) were designed according to the daily temperature change regularity. After treated for 21 days, the changes of malondialdehyde (MDA)content, soluble sugar content, soluble protein content, free proline content, superoxide dismutase( SOD) activity, peroxidase( POD) activity, catalase( CAT) activity, ascorbate peroxidase( APX) activity were analyzed. The data were treated by pertinence analysis, clustering analysis, principal component analysis for cold resistance indexes identification and their comprehensive evaluation of cold tolerance. The results showed that there were different change tendency of physiological and biochemical traits under low temperature treatments in different coconut varieties, the cold resistance of the three varieties were listed as Hainan tall coconut > red dwarf coconut > aromatic coconut. Free proline content and POD activity were highly related with other indexes, there were greater differences under different low temperature treatments, they were clustered into different
classes and indicated as osmotic substance and protective enzyme index, respectively. These two indexes could reflect the information of other indexes according to the principal component analysis. Free proline content and POD activity could be identified as cold resistance evaluation indexes of coconut. |
