Abstract:
Based on the panel data of the main grain-producing regions in 2001-2013,this article analyzed the influences of income level, irrigation facility, agricultural technology progress, transportation facility, agricultural labor opportunity cost and policy variables on the structure of planting in the main grain-producing regions, from the perspective of national food security and growth of peasants' income. The results shows that the development of transportation facilities and agricultural technology have significant effecs on the structural adjustment of planting in the whole grainproducing areas. The income level, irrigation facility, opportunity cost of agricultural labor have negative effects on the proportion of planting, but the effect of grain subsidy policy is not obvious. Various factors influence regional diversities, and the total power of agricultural machinery has positive effect on the cultivation of crops in the East and Central, while the west is opposite. It is suggested that,we should speed up the construction of transportation infrastructure in the main grain-producing areas, promote the transformation and utilization of agricultural technology actively, support agricultural technology transfer funds to the East and central regions, accelerate the construction of irrigation facilities and highway synergistically in the central and western regions, increase the peasants' income gradually, and strengthen the transformation of agricultural technology.
