Abstract: |
The paper studied the characteristics of dormancy and germination of Portulaca pilosa seed to
understand its seed and to lay technical foundation for its propagation. Results indicated that, the primary dormancy
period of seed was about 25 days, dormancy could be completely broken by stored at room temperature for 30 days. The
seed was positively photoblastic seed that coudn't sprout and can be induced into sleeping in low light conditions. The
dormancy broken seed was more sensitive to light, compared with the lately collected one,and the germination peak
arose 1 day earlier. P. pilosa seed favorited humid conditions, the higher the soil moisture, the higher the germination
rate and germination potential of the seed. In P. pilosa breeding, seeds with dormanly broken should be adopted,
firstly seeds were promoted germinating in light conditions for 2-3 days, sowed on the soil surface, and then they
were covered with transparent plastic film, keeping moisture and guaranteeing light conditions would be beneficial to
seed burgeon. |
