Abstract: |
In order to improve the maize resistance to southern corn rust of temperate germplasm, the resistant genes, which came from germplasm of high SCR-resistant in CIMMYT,were introduced in temperate germplasm. The SCR-resistance of temperate germplasm was directionaly improved by pyramiding SCR-resistant genes. 368 plants of a BC2F2 family, which had the same polymorphism with the SCR-resistant parent by detecting with SSR marker phi048,were used to identify their SCR-resistance by artificial inoculation in field. The results showed that 235 plants were highly resistant or resistant, accounting for 63.9%,114 plants were moderately resistant, accounting for 31.0%,19 plants were susceptible, accounting for 5.1%. The results demonstrated that SSR marker phi048 was effective to select SCR-resistant materials in early stage, which could knock out lots of SCR-susceptible lines therefore reduce plenty of field work. The SCR-resistance of temperate germplasm was effectively improved by directional selection with marker assistant combined to identification with artificial inoculation. |
