Abstract:
With seeds of hybrid rice parent line Jin 23B and V20B as experimental materials, the study was focused on the physiological effects of exogenous ABA on germination of hybrid rice seeds. The results showed that seed germination was significantly restrained by 70-110 mg/L ABA with the content increasing. Physiological and biochemical analysis indicated that α-amylases activity degraded, soluble sugar content reduced, soluble protein content changed, and phytohormones contents were affected, endogenous GA3 and IAA degraded, and endogenous ABA content increased by 110 mg/L ABA. The content of endogenous ABA of Jin23B was higher than that of V20B,but the inhibition effect in seed germination of Jin23B was worse than that of V20B,therefore,seed germination was not determined by the level of endogenous ABA content in seed, and was closely related to the GA3 /ABA ratio.
