Abstract: |
A sand culture experiment was conducted to study the effects of different concentrations of olive oil
processing liquid wastes on germination and seedling growth, osmotica accumulation and active oxygen metabolism
of Radix Xedysari of Gansu authentic Chinese herbal medicine. The results showed that low concentration of
olive oil processing liquid wastes stress made the seeds germination and seedling growth increased significantly,
when the olive oil processing liquid wastes concentration was 20%,the germination rate and germination index
were 94.25% and 384.25,embryonic root length and hypocotyl length were 1.94 cm and 0.93 cm,seedling height
and root length can reach 5.28 cm and 2.96 cm.With the concentration of 70%,the seed germination rate and
germination index significantly decreased, the seed germination rate and germination index significantly reduced,
reached 60.22% and 254.11,and the germination percentage decreased significantly, and seedling growth was restricted, reached 3.04 cm and 1.81 cm,the leaf O2
-·production rate and H2O2 content increased dramatically,
the activities of superoxide dismutase, peroxidase, catalase and ascorbate peroxidase decreased after an initial
increase. The contents of glutathione and ascorbic acid in leaf decreased markedly. The leaf proline, soluble sugar
and malonaldehyde contents had a significant increase with the increasing concentration of olive oil processing
liquid wastes. |
