Abstract: |
The experiment was conducted to screen planting substrates and provide technical support for Costus
speciosus. With Yaxin-1102 portable photosynthesis and transpiration system, the diurnal variation of photosynthetic
characteristics of C. speciosus in six kinds of cultivation substrates mixed by red soil, peat, coir and perlite were
measured in flowering time. At the same time, the plant height and diameter of stem base were gauged. After that
the fresh and dry weight of rhizome were observed in harvesting time. The results showed that the net photosynthesis
rate of six cultivation substrates varied in a single peak curve or a double peak shape curve. The transpiration rates of
six cultivation substrates were the same in a single peak curve. The plant height, fresh and dry weight of rhizomes of
substrate No.4 were significantly higher than those of others. It was clearly seen that the substrate No.4( peat∶coir∶
perlite=1∶2∶2) provided a theoretical basis for the pot C. speciosus growth and dry matter accumulation. |
