Abstract: |
Phytonutrient is a new kind of efficient, environmental and natural organic plant nutrition products
based on the theory of traditional Chinese medicine on agriculture. Phytonutrients are extracted from traditional
Chinese herbs and refined by modern extraction techniques. In order to study effects of phytonutrients on the seed
germination and plant growth, cucumbers were selected as materials for treatments of different phytonutrients
concentrations and applications. The results showed that:different concentrations of phytonutrients have different
effects on seed germination and growth of cucumber. Low concentration of phytonutrients at 0.2 mg/L,the
germination rate of cucumber seeds increased by 12.94%,the growth indexes of cucumber, such as stem diameter,
leaf area, fresh weight and dry weight of leaf increased by 11.43%,145.71%,26.59% and 25.79% respectively.
High concentration of phytonutrients at 10 mg/L,inhibited the seed germination and growth of cucumber, and
the inhibitory effect becomes more obvious as the concentration increased. Phytonutrients promoted the growth of cucumber plants and improve the fruit quality by using both root spraying and leaf spraying. The root spraying is more
beneficial to the early vegetative growth and late reproductive growth of cucumber. The leaf spraying is helpful for the
late vegetative growth of cucumber. |
