Abstract: |
lncRNAs are a class of noncoding RNAs with more than 200 nt in length, which play important roles
in plant growth and response to stresses through regulating gene expression or directly affecting protein function.
At3NC026490 is a lncRNA in Arabidopsis, and its functions totally remain unknown. In the study, the functional
roles of At3NC026490 were investigated in the aspect of its promoter. Firstly, bioinformatic analysis indicated that
the promoter of At3NC026490 gene contains cis-elements responding to light, hormone and stresses. Subsequently,
the promoter was constructed to drive GUS gene, and transformed into Arabidopsis. Transgenic plants showed GUS
phenotype on vegetative tissues( seedling, root, leave) and sepal of flower, whereas on GUS phenotype was not
observed on seeds at differently developmental stages, suggesting that the promoter showed tissue-driven feature. The
findings implied that the At3NC026490 gene might play roles in response to light, hormone and stresses as well as
specific tissues, which provided important information for further studying the functions of At3NC026490. |
