Development Status and Countermeasures of Protected Horticulture in Guangdong |

Abstract: |
Protected horticulture is a labor-intensive industry and one of the important signs of modern agriculture with the characteristics of efficiency, intensiveness, controllability and sustainability. The development of protected horticulture is an important task and inevitable choice of modern agriculture in Guangdong Province. In recent years, depending on the policy support as well as the market demand, the protected horticulture in Guangdong Province has been developed rapidly. However, its scale and management technology level are relatively backward in China. And the development of protected horticulture is not matched with the Province with strong economy and is incompatible to the climatic conditions in south China. In this article, the development status of protected horticulture in Guangdong Province were summarized from the aspects of development scale, equipment level, function mode, technological level and regional distribution, etc. Furthermore, some existing problems such as deficiencies in structural design and construction of facilities, low utilization, low cultivation and management technology level, insufficient independent innovation, unsound industry were analyzed. Finally, countermeasures and suggestions were proposed to promote the industrialization development of protected horticulture in Guangdong from policy guidance, target orientation, research input and talent training in order to provide references for promoting the healthy and sustainable of protected horticulture in Guangdong, helping the rural revitalization, and boosting the construction of protected horticulture in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. |
