Abstract:
Guangdong is rich in light, water and heat resources, and crops can be planted throughout the year.Meanwhile, the crops are infested by various weed species all the year around, which has been an important biological factor affecting crop production. Currently, weed control in Guangdong province mainly relies on chemical herbicides, which play an important role in reducing weed damage and improving crop yield. In the process of agricultural modernization, some problems in weed control have emerged. Overreliance on chemical herbicides leads to serious problems of weed population succession, weed resistance and herbicide damage on crops. Withthe increase of control costs, this also puts huge pressure on farmland ecosystem. Many other factors, such as the lack of weed green prevention and control technology, the low application level of intellectualization and mechanization and few professionals in weed control, have also severely restricted the development of weed control technology in Guangdong province. To solve these problems, the following countermeasures are proposed, including the establishment of monitoring and early warning system on weed community dynamics and weed resistance, strengthening the research on weed resistance mechanism, research and promotion of diagnose and remedial technologies about herbicide damage, strengthening the research on green weed prevention and control and precise weeding technology, establishing industry-academy-research alliance to enhance collaborative innovation capacity, and promoting the professional control system for large-scale weed management and farmer training.
