Cherry tomatoes is one of the “Four Fruits and Vegetables” that the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations preferentially promotes. It is widely cultivated all over the world, and has also developed rapidly in China in recent years. The area of facility cultivation of cherry tomatoes has continued to expand and it has become a protagonist in rural revitalization, urban agriculture and other modern agricultural fields. However, there are still many problems in production, mainly including three aspects: first, the lack of good domestic varieties, and most of the highquality and high-efficiency varieties in current production are mostly introduced from foreign countries; second, the nutrition management is not accurate enough; third, the lack of available plant growth models, backward facilities and equipment, and low intelligence. Starting from the needs of the protected cherry tomato industry in south China, this article analyzes and summarizes the latest research by relevant research team of the Guangdong Academy of Agricultural Sciences based on domestic and foreign related research results, namely, the cultivation of special varieties for facility cultivation, plant factory technology, and the development of intelligent facilities and equipment. Research progress, especially in the collection and innovation of protected cherry tomato germplasm resources, variety cultivation, and the development and application of factory cultivation models, and the cultivation of breakthrough varieties of cherry tomato under facility cultivation based on the climate characteristics of south China , the optimization of facilities and equipment as well as the research of factory production technology mode are prospected. |
