Abstract:
【Objective】New urbanization, rural industrial integration and farmers common prosperity are the three driving factors of rural development. The study on the coupling mechanism among the above three can give a deeper understanding of their rich connotation and interaction mechanism. Studying the factors that affect the coupling of the three can provide countermeasures and suggestions for promoting the implementation of rural revitalization strategies in Shaanxi Province and even the northwest region.【Method】 Based on the interaction relationship among the three, a comprehensive evaluation index system was constructed to measure the coupling coordination degree among the three in various cities of Shaanxi Province from 2010 to 2020. The Tobit Model was used to study the factors affecting the coupling coordination of the three. 【Result】 (1) From 2010 to 2020, the comprehensive levels of new urbanization, rural industrial integration and farmers’common prosperity in Shaanxi Province increased from 0.28 to 0.49, 0.33 to 0.38, and 0.31 to 0.58, respectively, showing a continuous upward trend. (2) The coupling coordination degree of new urbanization, rural industrial integration and common prosperity of farmers in Shaanxi Province was generally at a low level, but it continued to rise from 0.347 to 0.721 in the study period, and the regional heterogeneity was significant. (3) From a global perspective, the regression coefficients of government support and human capital are 0.269 and 0.163 respectively, that is, government support and human capital have a significant positive role in promoting the coupling coordination of new urbanization, rural industrial integration and farmers’ common prosperity in Shaanxi Province. The regression coefficients for industrial structure, unemployment situation, and income gap are -0.961, -0.214, and -0.318, respectively, indicating that industrial structure imbalance, severe unemployment and excessive urban-rural income gap will suppress the coupling of the three driver factors. (4) From the perspective of regional heterogeneity, government support has a positive promoting effect on the coupling coordination of the three regions of central Shaanxi, southern Shaanxi and northern Shaanxi. The impact of unemployment on the southern Shaanxi region is not significant, and the impacts of industrial structure, urban-rural income gap and human capital on the coupling and coordination degrees of the three regions are not significant. 【Conclusion】There is a coupling relationship between new urbanization, rural industrial integration and farmers’ common prosperity. The coupling of the three can form a strong development force, increase farmers’ income and narrow the gap between urban and rural areas.
